All other issues aside, we don’t even know how well it works, or if it will work on new variants. Israel has used Pfizer almost exclusively and they are now buying Moderna to use as a “3rd shot booster” for its population who got the PFE previously.
A booster shot would, theoretically, need to go through a separate approval process as well. Or maybe not, since flu shots seem to get reformulated every year without needing new approvals. But with all the variants coming it’s going to be hard to sell especially the PFE and it’s weaker response to Delta.
