The Afghan president on Monday blamed the American troops' speedy pullout for the worsening violence in his country and said that his administration would now focus on protecting provincial capitals and major urban areas in the face of the rapidly advancing Taliban.
"An imported, hasty" peace process - a reference to Washington's push for negotiations between Kabul and the Taliban - "not only failed to bring peace but created doubt and ambiguity" among Afghans, Ghani said in his address to Parliament....
...The Taliban are now trying to seize provincial capitals after already taking large swaths of land and scores of districts in more rural areas, as well as several key border crossings with neighboring countries.

They’re just going to have to make the best of it. We poured 20 years, thousands of lives and trillions of dollars into trying to stabilize that wretched hellhole. We should’ve stayed out of it when the Soviets invaded in 1979. One of the worst strategic errors we could’ve made was to give Stinger missiles to stone-age muslims.

Of course Taliban attacks were going to rocket up when US soldiers withdraw. But then that is not the point.

Rules of Engagement with Muslims -
If Infidels are present, Sunni with unite with Shi’a sects to enslave (physical, sex, monetary), convert, and annihilate all Infidels.
If no Infidels present, Sunni will turn against Shi’a until one or the other is enslaved or annihilated.
