Half of the infections in Israel now are among the fully vaccinated, and public health officials are beginning to see signs of more serious disease among them, said Sharon Alroy-Preis, the nation’s Director of Public Health Services.
She said that infections for people vaccinated in January are double those vaccinated in March, an apparent decrease in effectiveness over time that has led Israel to begin booster shots. She said infections were particularly problematic for people 60 and older.
“It’s not just the fact that we’re seeing more disease, but they’re getting to severe and critical conditions,” she said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

@ post 4 - I will not wax sophomoric in science, but it is true many attempts have failed in developing corona virus vaccines due to ADE. Hope it does not occur in these not properly vetted treatments - I have said before my immediate family are practically the only people I know not taking one of these biological agents.
Yes...we are remodeling our home... The HVAC guy my hub talked to last week told him he’s the ONLY person he’s talked to who has not got the shot.
Of those in the family that have gotten the injections, I’ve been a bit shocked at the ‘sheeple’ like attitudes - they got stampeded in a panic right over the “vax” cliff like a herd of buffalo being hunted by the Plains Indians.
For those not getting the shots, it’s those of us who have bothered to ask questions & do any sort of research instead of swallowing Fauci/gov’t pronouncements hook line & sinker. All of that being said, it’s a personal choice & so far, we’re all tolerating each other regardless of ‘status’ - not even talking about who has gotten what & I hope it stays that way. I will tell you that I pray for those who have gotten it (loved ones & otherwise/humanity) & that none of the dire predictions (and there are multiple) including ADE, actually happens.

Funny how people will interpret this story in different ways. The Vaxers will see this as an argument for booster shots. Otherwise will see this as support for vaxes being worthless. And still others will think that even if the vax is of some benefit, no way they’re going to want to jab boosters every six months for the rest of their lives.
Neither do I.

The shots are not useless and not perfect. Nor are they perfectly safe, nor dangerous to many. Those are red herrings. But I fall into the your third description. I already know from the latest study that J&J is still good for variants at 8 months. It will take a lot to convince me of the need for a booster. We also see durable immunity from prior COVID infection at 10 months. Could be a decade or more based on COV-1.

Age makes a big difference. The oldest were vaccinated first.
Control for age. There is still a huge protective effect for those vaccinated with Pfizer in Israel, compared to unvaccinated of the same age.
The article also mis-reports (as discussed many times on FR), that half of cases were unvaccinated, when in fact it was half of Adult cases. The other half of total cases were minors, who were only vaccinated in Israel if they had rare co+morbidities.
So one quarter of total cases were among the approximately 90% of Israeli adults who were vaccinated, while another quarter were from among those 10% who were not.
In January the 7 day average death rate in Israel was 62 per day. It is now 2 per day. The death rate has gone down by 97%. The vaccine was effective, is effective, and will continue to be effective.
