Yes, he sure did. A lot of “conservatives” thought we were going to own the libs by having a black GOP chair. Michael Steele was an Affirmative Action hire of the highest order. All that mattered was that he was a black republican. All of the usual suspects praised his selection. He has been an unmitigated disaster. But CNN just loves him.
