The Great Game changes players but continues nonetheless.
Chinese Communist party thinks they’ll talk them into submission
In China, there is no such thing as a “private army.” All military and paramilitary organizations answer, ultimately, to the CCP.
All external units are attached to the The People’s Armed Police (PAP) Counter Terrorism Units. Some units work with the Guoanbu - which also answers to the CCP.
Don’t be fooled by comparison to things familiar to the West - like Soldiers of Fortune. This is China, and its a totally different place than it was under Deng and his successors.

Well, FWIW, DC doesn’t really give 2 shits about this. First, we were selling weapons to the Afghans to use on the Russians, then when THEY left, sales went down. Then, sales picked back up selling weapons for US to use ON the Afghans. Now that we’re pulling out, they’ll just swap back over to selling weapons to the Afghans to use on the Chinese. The names on the pieces may change, but the weapons sales continue unabated.
