I saw the fact that delta is more severe a week or two ago but did not cite it because it was in a local freebie paper. Turns out they were ahead of the others. Someone there knows someone at the CDC I guess, and published it first.

Generally, it's a courtesy that when one writes or posts something that might not be common knowledge, they provide the source of the information. This allows readers to look at the source and decide if it is credible or if the means of determining the figures derived are correct.
This may or may not be true; I simply don't know. But everything I have come across on the delta variant until now has been that because it is a "variant", it is, like every other "variant", weaker than the original.
