The “spread” of the delta variant seems to be associated with the virus being able to colonize the upper respiratory tract of both the vaccinated and the vaccinated but not with extensive severe disease as seen in the initial , worse outbreak of COVID 19. The vaccinated for the most part do not become seriously ill. Remember the vaccines are thought to be only 90% effective. However what is more interesting that this “easily contagious” variant is not filling ICUs and hospitals with the vulnerable or the unvaccinated as happened in 2020. Its a bit different. There is still much to learn and understand about this virus. Pity the CDC and NIH have been so politicized and the competent scientists are under the thumb of Biden’s commissars.
