You seem to be completely ignorant of the historic events of the past few years.

The cops couldn’t even stop the masses from looting stores at will. And that was over fabricated ginned up BS like police brutality. Lemmme educate you, if you cut off food from people you’ll see the ugly like you’ve never seen in your life.

Got it, I understand your point, thank you. And none of the measures I speculated about would affect that demographic. They don’t have jobs, or bank accounts to speak of, or even working credit cards most of the time. So fair enough.

I just don’t think that the Biden folks are talking about mandates for Compton.

I think that they’re taking about the red states and counties. I would like to believe that a mandate would be a bridge too far for the folks in Trump country, and would trigger mass civil disobedience. But I suspect that those people, who are my people, are still to comfortable. They have too much to lose. I suspect that the numbers would be tiny, and that the “soft” measures described earlier would be sufficient to keep the vast majority in line.

But you could be right. I hope you are.

I disagree that the local police couldn’t have stopped the rioting last year, or even the rampant shoplifting in places like California. I can only speak for the LA area, but it was well within the LAPD/LASD’s capacity to keep the peace. They were stood down by our politicians. And two actual, no kidding communist DA’s — Chesa Boudin in SF and George Gascon here in LA.

I don’t think that the feds would be as circumspect in the unlikely event a few red counties decided to get spicy.
