Several weeks ago I read that singer Demi Lovato came out as non-binary and would be using pronouns they/them to describe herself . . . wait . . . to describe themselves, or them, or they . . . or . . . you get the drift! I’m guessing non-binary means that she is not two people, a definition I can get behind; but, why then does she call herself them? I’m thinking my definition of non-binary may be contrary to what it actually means. My sexagenarian mind finds it difficult to wrap around these concepts because, when I was young, we only had two genders – male and female. Today, according to Dude Asks, apparently the definitive authority on gender, there are upwards of 112 different genders ranging from “Neutrois” to “Verangender.”
Not only are there now 112 genders, everyone gets to choose pronouns to identify themselves. One business encouraged its employees to add their chosen pronouns to their official email signature. After all, nothing screams corporate responsibility more than the injection of sex and gender dysphoria into the customer service experience. One employee toyed with the idea of adding “she/dinosaur/carbuncle” as her preferred pronouns before realizing a paycheck was still needed and thought better of the idea.
Perhaps the biggest problem we face living in a gender-rich society is simply interacting with our fellow human beings. Since it is literally impossible to identify gender by sight today (right?), we all risk “triggering” someone by using the wrong pronoun. O could be wrong, but I think that term Non Binary means neither Male or Female. For most of us those are the choices, like Chocolate or Vanilla and that’s it. The selection of the term “ Them” could be that has become the “go to” term to use for those of ambiguous or uncertain sexuality.
Demi is a mixed up, frustrated young woman who sees her career flattening out as she gets old, as she gains weight. She has a naturally chubby body. A hard sell in Hollywood, especially for girls.
Maybe she could identify as slender. Think that would help her? /s
My 12 year old daughter tried telling me there were way more than just 2 genders now. She even said how a person “identifies themselves determines what gender they were”. I told her I was going to identify as a fir tree for a day. I asked her if that would make me a tree. She said no- that’s stupid, I can’t be a tree because I am not one. :0) I told her I would agree with her argument of more than one gender once she found me a bull she could milk and a rooster she could get eggs from.
Someday, the skeleton of a long-dead “transgendered” person will be discovered by somebody or something, by happenstance or through diligent searching with the skeletal evidence revealing only that the person was male or female, and that’s all an investigation would have to go on. I’ll bet it’s already happened. I would hope that it’s not something that law enforcement, the medical profession and the justice system think they’d have to tread lightly around. It is what it is, but more importantly, it ain’t what it ain’t.
Gender is basically how you refer to someone. Sex is biological. I tell people “I can’t possibly remember everyone’s pronouns”
Heterosexual males and females are on the bottom of the intersectional victim totem pole. Claiming one of the 112 genders allows an individual to assert they are a victim of discrimination and deserve sympathy.

IMO those who claim to be a different gender (sex) than that which born has a mental illness. It is a matter of living in the land of make-believe.
There is a sophistry that begins with the observation that since we must access reality through our perceptions, perception itself is the only thing about which we can be truly certain. From there comes the fallacy that perception is the *only* reality, and so everything that someone chooses to believe becomes Truth, “their” Truth.
I think this is the unpinning for all Leftist thought. A practical consequence is the notion that if they could manage to coerce every living soul into adopting some Leftist fantasy, rewrite history to match it, and crush all dissent, it would become a universal, indisputable Truth, and we would finally achieve a harmonious Utopia. Many are willing to inflict boundless suffering and destruction and death to get there. That’s a sacrifice they’re willing to make (for those other than themselves). It’s their Truth, so it must be Real.
Stop wasting time trying to figure out what they think they are and stupid terms they’re using today. Just call them what they are - FREAKS.
Gender and sex used to match up 99.9% of the time until the weirdos took charge of everything.
If it is “good” for males to self-identify as females and females to identify as males (or use some other gender “variant”,), why can’t people self-identify as “vaccinated” even if they haven’t had “the jab”?
Languages have genders. People have sexes.

Maybe it’s me, but I don’t think people love strawberry. Unless it’s in Neapolitan. Smushed together with chocolate and vanilla.
