37 years ago on this day (July 29, 1974), we lost Mama Cass.
It's really sad that no Freeper put a vanity thread up on this today.
My favorite Mama Cass song was Make Your Own Kind Of Music
This kind of musical genius we shall never see again.

Michael Collins was one of the three-person crew on the Apollo 11 mission to the moon in 1969… At this moment, and I sincerely hope I am not jinxing him, Buzz Aldrin (91), the Apollo 11 Eagle (LEM) Pilot, still survives. Of the 24 men of the Apollo Moon Mission (Apollos 8, 10 - 17), only 4 of the Moon Walkers and 6 of the Orbit / Flyby (Apollo 13) still live.
I wonder if any of them will live to see the next footprint on Luna? The youngest of these survivors is Ken Mattingly (85), Apollo 16 Command Module Pilot (CSM) [Original CSM Pilot of Apollo 13].

Willie Winfield, who headed the Harp-Tones, a singing group that waxed a number of disks in the 1950's, passed away recently. Although they didn't see much action on the national charts, they were popular in the northeastern US, and their disks are sought after by collectors. They were still rockin' in the early 2000's, sounding better than they did on shellac.
