Just keep in mind the guys at powerline are far more comfortable with the establishment wing of the R party than the Trump Deplorable wing. They rarely miss a chance to claim that Trump is losing his grip on the R party. It’s all wishful thinking. Also the dynamic that played out is simple, Occam’s Razor says it most likely the locals knew the candidates better than Trump did.

This was absolutely a local race. Others are coming in and letting the Twattersphere and media set a narrative that is laughable on its face if anyone bothered to just look.

1. Ellzey isn’t a “Never-Trumper”. He’s a State Representative with a Conservative voting record. He had the support of Rick Perry and Joe Barton who represented this area for years. He also ran for and almost won this seat outright on his own against Ron Wright.

2. He raised a million dollars more than Susan Wright.

3. Trump actually never really campaigned. Hard for Wright beyond doing two E-events.

Now to set the record straight from the Qtards:

4. Texas doesn’t use Dominion machines. Every time your queer Hoft preferred candidate doesn’t win, doesn’t mean you get to yell “dominion” like a magic talisman.

https://www.sos.texas.gov/elections/forms/sysexam/dominion-d-suite-5.5-a.pdf

5. The media was devastated because the GOP locked the Democrats out of the general election. This became a R vs R general and the combined GOP voting share in the primary was 62%. THIS should be the narrative as the 62% was a huge improvement from November 2020.

6. Hardly anyone voted in the general and the drop off has to be Democrats staying home. There were 78000 votes in the primary. Less than 40000 votes in the general. Wright won 15000 votes in the primary, and got 18000
Votes in the general. Ellzey got 10000 votes in the primary and 20000 in the general. Harrison, Castro, Wood and Ballantine (Republicans) had more than 18000 votes between them. Their voters alone would be more than Ellzeys addition.

The moron class let’s the media set the narrative and falls for their trap every time.

Hinderaker is not like that. It’s unclear to me where Hayward and Johnson stand, although Hayward hobnobs with all the establishment people.
