More than 2 million people in Greater Sydney will not be unable to leave their local government area (LGA) for work as NSW attempts to stem the spread of COVID-19.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian added Parramatta, Georges River and Campbelltown to the list of LGA's subjected to Authorised Work Orders.
They now join Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown, Blacktown, Liverpool and Cumberland LGA's from midnight.
Under the orders, workers are not allowed to leave their LGA's unless they work in health, aged care or are essential workers listed by the government including supermarket workers, those in logistics, distribution and other critical services.
"We now have eight LGA's, the most highly populated parts of our community in Greater Sydney, not able to leave their home for work unless they are categorised as a very critical worker," Ms Berejiklian said.
"That localised, targeted response is what we hope will have the desired effect."...

If you watch Sky News in Australia you will understand how deep in the crapper Australia really is....they have embraced the elimination of Covid as a strategy when that’s not possible....regardless of the vaccine level, Australia is so far behind the rest of the world in terms of herd immunity they will be having lockdowns for all of 2022 if they keep going with the same strategy...
