America may have its first mixed-race vice president, its first African American secretary of defense and its first Latino and immigrant as secretary of homeland security, but the country has never been so racist. That, at least, is one of the disturbing conclusions being drawn from a new Gallup poll, which found that the share of Americans reporting that race relations are bad or “somewhat” bad has reached 57 percent — the highest it’s been in two decades.
But are its findings really evidence of widespread racism in the US? Hardly. In fact, you need only look at the behavior of Americans — at the number of interracial marriages or police shootings of minorities, for example — to see that racism has almost never been so absent.
Take interracial marriages. In 1958, 94 percent of whites opposed it — yet just 10 percent do today. Similarly, the long-running General Social Survey found that in the 1970s, nearly 60 percent of white Americans agreed with the statement that blacks shouldn’t “push themselves where they’re not wanted.” In 2002, that figure fell to 20 percent — and the question was discontinued.
It’s much the same story with police shootings of African Americans. Despite the charged rhetoric of the past year, which culminated in calls for entire police forces to be disbanded, such shootings are 60 to 80 percent lower than they were in the 1960s.
So why is there such a misunderstanding between the American public and the reality of US race relations? The answer, I suspect, reflects a media-driven moral panic — one that is rooted in the racialization of identity-obsessed progressive politics.
Indeed, the “rise” of racism in America since 2014 is a social construct that reflects perception rather than daily life.

>>but the country has never been so racist.
they say the nation was always racist. and so was the flag. and constitution. and holidays. and statues. and....
Marxism has failed everywhere, so its neo-marxists and American leftists doubling down and grasping at relevancy.
Race is powerful and ill-defined narrative, so its both vague and volatile. thus very useful in the service of evil political power grabs
The Left has only one goal: do whatever it takes to have Worldwide Totalitarian Government. The Marxist Dream.
The Right on the other hand seems to be clueless about its goals and objectives. There’s the “conservatives” who are basically ruled by the tyranny of the status quo. Then there’s those who only focus on and rail against what they perceive as the opposition.
Even among the Patriotic Right, few seem to understand THE POLITICAL PROBLEM (the mostly unconstitutional federal government) or OUR OBJECTIVE (do whatever it takes to restore our Free Constitutional Republic).
Democrats are desperate to retain power. Democrats also know they can count on the propensity of emotional reactionary blacks to keep things stirred up whenever necessary.
Well, if you watch the commercials, it seems like 100% of the families these days are “mixed race”. And I saw a commercial last night (I think it was Missouri tourism, IIRC), which seemed to show that 100% of the people in Missouri and/or who vacation there are POC.
Everybody who disagrees with me is a racist.
You get it. Rare to find even here.
That’s a small world problem. Say you are responsible for advertising and you have two people in a commercial. Then the virtue signaling imbeciles in the corporate corner offices tell you that you have to be diverse.
Good luck.
You can jump out the window, or you can opt for a mixed race marriage and hope you can move along before the twitter mob comes for you for leaving out the ethnicity of the week.
Your odds are a little better with four people in the commercial, but really you need at least ten. And that doesn’t even get you started on the 72 genders.
Thank God for those of us who do get it. The Patriots of 1776 were also in the minority, but they won - as we will - with faith in God and determination to do what’s right “as God gives us the light to see what’s right”. (A quote form Abe Lincoln but appropriate here I think.)
Stumbled across this article from 2017 the other day...tells the tale of how Democrats cultivated “white supremacy” and racial hatred to retain power after the Civil War. At the the time, the goal was to subvert a growing alliance between Black Republicans and white populist by stoking fear and hate of Blacks. Fast forward 120 years and they are still using race for power...only now, those “white supremacists” are the new devils.
Atlantic magazine, so not a “right wing” source.

Booker T. Washington said pretty much the same thing in his autobiography “Up from slavery” but he pushed it one step further: that the Yankees were using the blacks to antagonize the southern whites thus provoking the democrat reaction.
In 1963 congress held hearings on a plan that was revealed to them. A plan for communism to infiltrate the US. It is easy to see that plan has been implemented. And yet most people can’t even see it. They believe all that is happening is simply a matter of moral and political views being independently pushed upon the nation. They cannot see that it is a conspiracy. Part of the plan was to convince Americans that all conspiracies were nonsense. That worked too. Very sad.
Most people on the left have no idea they are even part of the conspiracy. They have simply been manipulated by people who well understand human nature, and the methods used to manipulate people. The first step was to dumb them down.
