It's an email, and electronic communication, similar to posting at the comments section of any government outfit.
Be that as it may, few people worry about online threats and what not. I've had plenty of those in my time. Never worried about it.

Regardless of how your feel about threats, threatening a public official is a crime. And this idiot emailed the evidence of his crime directly to the federal government from an email address that was easily associated to an IP address tied to his home address. This is the lowest of low-hanging fruit.
