These things should tell us about the people in the district, however, special elections usually have low voter turnout with result that may not fully represent the district. Split the six points difference in half and you have a 50-50 race. It really suggests to me the GOP voters did not see a ton of difference between the two. Maybe we should not put too much importance in the outcome.

I’m not putting any importance on this race because it was won by a Republican after the Democrats were totally shut out in the primary process for this seat. That was the big story just a few weeks ago because the Dems believed they had a shot at a pick up and never even got into the race.
Trumps record of his endorsements being helpful is excellent but no one wins all the time.
