Next will be climate change lockdowns..we all know its coming

Stupid White women on Facebook don't. All day long they are falling for the lies and fake tears in the 1/6 hearings. These idiots gave us Obamax2 and Biden, and will be the end of America.

“ due to power consumption regulations adopted by those states”

Huh? California is mandating EVs which consume a hell of a lot more power. And is it only PCs that are affected? That wouldn’t make sense given all of the other high consumption appliances out there.

So...I can buy 100 regular computers for my house, along with welders, air compressors, window air conditioners, washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, and electric car chargers for all the family, but that Dell computer is going to be a voltage problem.

Sounds like another violation of the Commerce Clause.

The pre-built ones suck however. You get what you get, and there is no option to make changes to it. And the cases suck.

Re-label it as a resistance space heater.

computers, going the way of guns and ammo.

Interesting.

The Right-wingers smuggle ammo.

The basement-dwelling trolls smuggle computers.

But what if you have your own back-yard nuclear reactor?

There is a work around. Order it for delivery to an address of a friend / relative in state where it can be delivered. Once it’s shipped, redirect it to your address. It will cost you $5-6 but you get your faucet.

I haven’t built one in I don’t know how long.

It got to the point it almost wasn’t worth doing from an economic standpoint. Making it work was pleasant though.

There is a surplus development server I got from the office that I’ve powered on a couple of times. For whatever reason, it has W7 on it. I thought I’d put a few old games I like sometime that W10 doesn’t handle.

A couple of decent legacy Dell towers are also collecting dust along with monitors and wireless keyboards are sitting too. Figured I’d make extra Linux boxes sometime.

Does this mean you can’t buy a 1500 watt hair dryer in California?

#16 I use a Dell pc for work. Cheap junk that they sold for $900. Do a search on the inside of their pc’s. Bare bones.

Any motherboard you buy will be better. Just get a case and plug in the parts, upgrade for later.

“Next will be climate change lockdowns..we all know its coming”

We get a discount on all our power by letting the power company turn off our central air conditioning when demand is high. They abuse the agreement of course, and turn off the AC whenever it is a little hot outside.

Fortunately, we still get the discount on the power our four window air conditioners use when the central AC is turned off.

That’s why I had my last PC custom built by Falcon Northwest. Expensive, but the build was a work of art, and they are knowledgeable and really stand behind their products. Even their sales staff have to spend at least a year in tech support before they move to sales. (Tech support is a group of Americans in Oregon, not a bunch of Indians or Indonesians reading a script.)

And there are several other similar custom PC builders who are great, too.
