To the apparent confusion of some scientists, the number of new coronavirus cases has fallen for the sixth day in a row in the UK post-Freedom Day. However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has cautioned the country was “not out of the woods yet”.
The United Kingdom recorded 24,950 new cases of the Chinese coronavirus in the latest 24-hour period, the lowest level in three weeks. On Monday, 29,173 cases were reported in the preceding 24 hours, compared to last Monday when that figure was 39,950. The trend was revealed one week after England saw most government covid restrictions lifted on ‘Freedom Day’ (the 19th).

I heard him interviewed on the informative Bret Weinstein DarkHorse podcast. Very enlightening.
Actually, they may exactly be coming out of the woods.
It’s fun and soothing to people to think they can control this thing, but I doubt we can. This virus is probably doing exactly what knowledgeable people would expect a virus to do. If our frantic and destructive action is changing this “R0” value at all, I’d love to hear by how much.
Come out of the woods. Enjoy the sunshine while you can. The virus will be back again at some point and you are just wasting some of the time that it’s in remission.
And this is after Euro 2020 when tens of millions of the British gathered at Wembley, in parks, pubs etc to watch the matches with NO MASKS, NO SOCIAL DISTANCING etc hugging each other and screaming their heads off, all against govt regulations, and all that happened is the number of cases went DOWN.
Our cases are up but deaths are not, even on a lagging basis. So either delta is less severe than prior strains, its mostly young getting the delta variant, or its mostly the vaccinated getting the variant. Either way the fear porn here, much like in Europe, needs to stop.

Yep, the vulnerable have all been vaccinated if they chose. As was always to be the case, the virus has had its way in its spread throughout the nation’s community. We’re arriving at the cusp of our ALWAYS DESTINED herd immunity. There’s certainly no need to continue damaging our nation and the cruelty to our children with mandatory masking needs to end - it NEVER should have started.
