Simone Biles pulled out of the finals of the gymnastics team event at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday, dealing a massive blow to Team USA’s chances of securing the gold medal as they face a resurgent Russian team.
Biles left the competition floor after completing her first apparatus on the vault, the New York Times reported.
Biles, who was supposed to do a Yurchenko with two-and-half twists on the vault, pulled out only after one-and-a-half twist and then stumbled on the landing.
It’s unclear if the gymnast, widely considered the greatest of all time, was injured during the event.

Women’s softball team just went down..
The sport has really changed over the years, as it has become more of a power sport, and lost much of its elegance. In that regard, Biles does things that no other gymnast attempted, and that’s why they have put the mantle of Best Ever.
They got licked by their opponents.
I used to do ‘marathon’ hikes ... most were 50k/31 miles, the longest was 40 miles. Ibuprofen = “Vitamin I”, the hiker’s friend (marathon or otherwise).
After a friend had a heart attack on the trail & all anyone was carrying was ibuprofen, I started carrying a bottle of baby aspirin. Someone scrounged a package of 2 aspirin after we didn’t think we could come up with any. After taking the aspirin, his chest pains eased off within 30 minutes - cardiologist told him the aspirin had either saved his life and/or saved him from serious heart damage. He kept the wrapper from the aspirin in his wallet until he died years later. BTW, we were way back in the mountains - people had to run out for help, then drive to a ranger station since there was no cell phone service (ambulance met us at trailhead).
An older siblings saw her floor performance, and said she totally blew it, getting completely out of bounds at one point.
She joins the American basketball team going into the Olympics too cocky, with too much hubris and not well practiced.
I just question how motivated a lot of them really are, with no crowds, and apparently also little interest back home.
I get the feel she is a good person, for now anyway. I’ve seen fame twist up many who I thought were squared away.
And at the perfect moment too. NBC had just run a clip on the US favorite and her arrogance and intimidation toward other swimmers. She ended up with the bronze. Congrats to the swimmer from Alaska!
Taking Ibuprofen is terrible for the body, it stops the inflammatory process at the wrong point. I started not sprint triathlons after I retired. I had a great time. I used to take ibuprofen before a race. Had a long discussion about ibuprofen. The drug blocks prostaglandins that moderate pain perception. Prostaglandins also increase blood flow to kidneys and the damaged area.. You reduce the blood flow to kidneys and damaged areas.
The 46 year old Olympic gymnast from Uzbekistan doesn't seem to thing so.
Rooting for the woman’s softball team. They have not been tarnished by the media.
The media put too much pressure on her, commercials, high horse, almost a God.
Wow. Crazy.
Saw that last night. Knew she couldn’t handle the pressure at that point.
Because nobody cares about Womyn's Softball.
White girl. Doesn’t count.
Same here. Could care less about these idiots.
Same here. Could care less about these idiots.
That is such a stupid comment.
Come on now. We tried peaceful protesting. Then Colin Kaepernick—he lost his job. He lost his career. They took his whole entire career away from that poor man."

More like Simone Bullsheet! First time I've actually cheered for Americans to lose in the Olympics.
