Its already “turned around”. There is no corresponding death rate to all the detections of “Delta”, in a highly vaccinated population, which the US already has. The UK experience shows that clearly. The US is only marginally behind the UK in vaccinating the “vulnerable”.

the CDC isn’t allowing deaths to be counted the same way as they did last year.

I’m not an idiot. I know the virus can be deadly for some. But, I think the evidence is coming in that we were played for political reasons and it costs people their lives. And save a very small handful of folks in DC, it doesn’t appear that most of the give a sh*t. I wonder why there is no flu anymore.
