Commies are really good at this, apparently. Dennis Prager pointed out that the term “Bolshevik” has the root word meaning “greater” as in the Bolshoi Ballet. They called themselves this even though they were a relatively small part of the government in terms of popular support and representation initially.

It’s the ultimate “fake it till you make it” party. Of course, when they “make it” the world suffers for it.
