Biden admin says 'long COVID-19' could qualify as a disability under federal law Replay Video The Biden administration on Monday released new guidance on how to support those experiencing long-term symptoms of COVID-19 as part of a broader effort to recognize the 31st anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Justice rolled out guidance making clear that symptoms of “long COVID-19” could qualify as a disability under the federal civil rights law.

The guidance makes clear that long COVID-19 is not automatically a disability and that an “individualized assessment” is necessary to determine whether a person’s long-term symptoms or condition “substantially limits a major life activity.”

Admittedly, I’ve back way off from reading the news lately, but what the hell is ‘long’ COVID? Did they realize they’re running out of virus scare tactics? Next, a new virus strain will have been found to infect only the LGBT crowd. Sheesh.

As Covid becomes a disability you can’t bar people with Covid from doing things like going to work or go vote or even enjoy concerts and other public performances.

Not unvaxed people, just those with serious longterm covid.

Actually I have long COVID. Because of my age and financial situations, I've chosen not to work.

And I darn sure don't want any ‘help’ from the Biden administration.

So the point of the ‘jab’ was to create a grateful population of CoVID jab survivors on public disability?

more and more and more people on welfare

99 percent of covid cases do NOT justify welfare payments!

while
USA jobs go begging (or if they are tech jobs, they are given to the Chinese and Indians that the “American” corporations import)

“getting America back to work again” is certainly NOT the Biden/Soroz administration policy!

It apparently will if you justify your disability with joint pain, mental anguish, chronic headaches, or anything else.

The $1 trillion and $3 trillion packages are nothing. Just wait.

"what the hell is ‘long’ COVID?"

Somewhere between 10 and 35% (studies differ on this) of people who contract COVID-19 have symptoms which persist for months (or longer) after the infection is cleared. Symptoms can include coughing, fatigue, shortness of breath, "brain fog", and body aches. I personally know of one person who has been an active athlete, is fairly young, and now struggles to do workouts due to significant fatigue and shortness of breath. She and her husband had COVID-19 back in September. Another personal I know (also reasonably young, athlete) has had significant back pain since she recovered from COVID-19. Never had an issue with that before.

Oonagh Cousins is a British athlete picked for the 2020 Olympic rowing team. After she got COVID-19, she says she had months where she could barely get out of bed and to this day can only do short low intensity training sessions. Georgia Wilson is a professional soccer player who also suffered from long COVID. She spent months unable to run across a soccer field because she was so out of breath all the time.

I'm not suggesting that the Federal government jump into the middle of this with more helicopter money, but "long covid" is definitely a real thing.

As I responded to someone else earlier, I have long Covid. They have published a list of about 30 items people have with this condition. Most people just have a few of the symptoms. I have fatigue and balance issues. It has also raised my blood pressure considerably so I have to take pills for that.

The biggest single issue is knowledge. If you listen to the so called experts, they barely know anything about COVID. They know much less about “long COVID.” Thankfully I do have a good doctor. Although he rides me with stuff like, “you would have go out and get this weird dam illness that no one knows anything about.”

I’m sorry to hear you’re having these issues. Out of curiosity, have you also gotten vaccinated? I’ve heard from some that it helps in at least some cases. There has been some speculation that long covid may related to an incomplete clearing of the infection.

I agree that it’s unfortunate we don’t know more about how it affects the body. Knowledge is steadily increasing, but there’s a big gap remaining. It’s pretty incredible how with all the genetic sequencing we can do and the protein folding imaging, there’s still a lot about how the body reacts to things that is difficult to predict or understand.

Per my doctor's instructions I have not. When this all first started they ran a huge number of blood test on me. He went through them and at one point said, “have you been vaccinate five or six times?” Apparently I have a huge amount of antibodies present. I said no.

When I didn't hear anything for a few days, I called him. He has been talking to some old doctor friend of who works at the Research Medical center. He responded,”no my friend says they are finding people with long COVID produce a huge amount of antibodies.”

Then a week or so ago an article came out that said maybe people with long COVID should get vaccinated many times over several weeks. I dropped a copy off at his office. He gave me this really pained look and said, “I'm looking into it.” Haven't heard what he has found out yet.

I take everything about this crap with a grain of salt.

Sounds like you’ve got a great doc who’s working hard to get you back to 100%. I hope he’s able to help. Such a strange infection in how the body responds to it. I don’t think I’ve seen something quite like it before.

Yes it is very frustrating. And some of the frustration comes from the outright lying that occurs.

Example: look at how many things that have been said, that have also been proven wrong. The medical science industry can only operate and plan from a point of knowledge. And their knowledge comes from books, learning and experience.

Since they are wrong so often, they must be a bunch of dumbasses that never studied or learned. But it is obvious that they are not. So how can we explain this dichotomy?

It's very simple. Their knowledge is all from nature and history. This crap came from neither. This is obviously some kind of man-made crap, which is why no one can know what it will do next.

I just wish the panty-waste in Washington would just come our and say it, instead of kowtowing to the Chinese.

What about those who have disabilities from getting jabbed?

Thanks for that information. I have a lingering lung issue going on since I had it last November. Nothing serious. I just thought it might be asthma, since it runs in my family.

That said, even if the delta variant, long COVID, et al. Are real, that won’t stop our politician overlords from exploiting to their advantage.

DING DING DING. We saw this coming a long time ago. And what the heck. I got it. I’m going to claim I can’t work. I am sick of working my arse off only to have the government shutter my industry last year, and now recovering my client base only to see these jerks raise taxes, regulations, and inflate everything. So screw it. Early retirement. Sell my business and just lounge about.
