So, the leaders Vercingetorix, Clovis, Charles Martel, Charlemagne, Turenne, Conde’, Maurice de Saxe, Massena, Murat, Davout, Ney, Soult, Lannes, Napoleon I, Marbot, Bazaine, MacMahon, Foch, Joffre, DeGaulle, Lattre de Tassigny, LeClerc, Moulin and the 1.9 million and the 600,000 soldiers of France dead in the first and second world wars count for nothing?

Yeah they do. The French Army mutinied in WW1- twice and the Germans rolled over them in 1940.

And to be fair they did help us out in the Revolution.

I'd like to think my grandfather paid his dues for the French fighting in the Meuse-Argonne in 1918 and two of my uncles in the Ardennes in 1945.
