What is the "canvass phase?
What does that mean?
Examples:
52 people voted giving the same address.
Canvassers go to the address, and it’s a one-bedroom apartment.
10 people vote giving the same address.
It’s an empty lot.
20 people vote giving the same address.
Canvassers go to the address, knock on the door, and ask the owner, “Do you know John Doe? Does John Doe live here?”
There are tons of things that could trigger auditors to question the authenticity of information a “voter” has provided on the affidavit. An affidavit is the signed envelope of an absentee or mail-in ballot. It’s person-to-person, gum-shoe investigating.
