NYC gives free BREAKFAST, and the free lunch program operates in the summer - AVAILABLE TO ANYONE.
Your link highlights another trend flying under the radar for years, and there is a racial/ethnic angle to it: Taxpayers funding children to a much larger extent. When you see how this CoupFlu stimulus gave so much more to parents, and they are now receiving “advance child credit” checks, you realize what has been much clearer to Americans in NJ than some lower-cost areas: We are subsidizing the replacement populations in a massive wealth transfer. Ageing childless Americans who think they’ll leave their wealth to relatives or animal shelters are going to realize they won’t have much to leave, and the high costs that will keep them working until death are caused in part by everything they are being taxed to provide for the breeders.
FWIW, I have children but they are young adults - no free sh!t there...
Believe me, I know—I used to live in NYC.
But this one is such an overwhelming poll result, complete with concerns about more menu choices, two meals being so great (because otherwise hungry students will now rush to school) and full-communist that the government should provide food because it is a fundamental right.
Big time government freebies in those areas.
Threaten to take away their money, they get upset, extend the money train. It’s rinse and repeat.
True, but maybe the inner city losers probably are not employable...for many reasons (drugs, education, crime, possibly chronic unemployment or bad employment history, etc.)
With the high cost of living in major metros, it may not pay to risk your benefits to take one or more jobs that won’t keep a roof over your head.
Since I got the virus
I found a new place to dwell
It’s down at the end of Handout Street
At the COVID Hotel...
They shut down ALL restaurants until May 15th in AZ. What was he supposed to do in the meantime? He was promised his job back in mid October so he agreed to wait. He’s also 68 and it’s not super easy to get a job as a server at that age, even tho he runs rings around the younger waiters on the staff. But thanks for your snarky comment.
