Friday, Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) went to bat for Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is considering adding to the January 6 select committee after she vetoed two of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s committee appointees.
Responding to the report that Kinzinger is being considered, Coons praised the Republican from Illinois who has been vocal in his opposition to former President Donald Trump and voted to impeach him following the riot at the U.S. Capitol. He told CNN’s “At This Hour” that Kinzinger “would be a great addition.”

Exactly. The Dems (Pelosi) already has the verdict - now she just needs to put together a “committee” who will render HER verdict. Makes me want to puke.
So opposition to Trump is a qualification for serving on the committee. This is like limiting a jury to those who already think that the defendant is guilty.

Coons is the same guy that also thought it was a great addition to have Biden nibbling at his daughter, while she was clearly trying to get away from the Big Guy.
She already appointed Liz Cheney, and Cheney accepted the appointment. It won't surprise me if she tries to appoint more never Trump rinos to claim the committee is "bipartisan".
McCarthy should strip any Republicans who accept Pelosi'e appointment to the committee of all committed assignments. He should kick them out of the Republican Caucus for directly undermining them. He can start today by stripping Cheney of her assignment to the Armed Services Committee and telling her "It appears Nancy Pelosi makes your committee assignments, so check in with her".

The Jan 6 committee will be comprised only of members who voted to impeach Trump. That fact should be loudly noted in 2023 when the new Republican speaker creates a Jan 6 commission of only members who did not vote to impeach.
