Rep. Tom Rice (R-S.C.) on Saturday drew another primary challenger over his vote earlier this year to impeach then-President Trump over his role in inciting the Jan. 6 riot on Capitol Hill.
Graham Allen, an Army combat veteran, announced in a statement that he would challenge Rice, allying himself closely with Trump and accusing the incumbent of being a “turncoat."
“Tom Rice abandoned his duty to represent the conscience of the voters of his district when he sided with Nancy Pelosi to support the sham impeachment of President Donald J. Trump. South Carolina's 7th Congressional District voters overwhelmingly endorsed President Trump's America First agenda twice at the ballot box," Allen said in a statement.
"But Congressman Rice betrayed their confidence when he caved to the far-left mob and their enablers in Big-Tech and the mainstream media,” he continued. “The fact is we can no longer count on Congressman Rice.”
In his announcement Allen, touted a slate of red meat issues for the GOP base, including vowing to “restore the integrity of our elections” and “securing our borders.”

Rice was one of 10 House Republicans to vote to impeach Trump over allegations he incited followers to ransack the Capitol on Jan. 6. His vote was particularly surprising given that Trump won his district by nearly 20 points in 2020.
Allen joins a growing field of challengers to Rice, including Ken Richardson, who was elected to lead Horry County Schools in 2018, Marine Corps veteran Steve Reichert, businessman Tom Dunn and more.

Doesn’t have to pass the red meat test. Just get the incumbent outta there. He/she’ll have 2 years to not screw up. We’re no ph—kin’ around anymore.

Looks like Conservatives will split their vote, and Rice will win the primary.
Does it matter in SC? Con artist all.
This butthead will be 65 y/o in 2022. Read between the lines. He’s calling it a career and wants to make a statement on the way out. He won’t run. It calls for term limits. People have to be protected from themselves when voting. Same with finances-SSI anyone?
Making it all the more likely Rice will pull it out with split opposition.
That’s how the Establishment rigs these situations the Trump Endorsement will have to settle the matter.
Is anyone challenging Tim Scott?

It just means Trump will have to step in like he will in Wyoming. Head them off at the pass-the bad ones. Anyone remember Sharon Angle?
Rice won’t be able to play his opponents off on one another that way so quitting is more likely with one strong opponent. District seems pretty solid red. There’s a lot more of his type out there. Talk a good game. So where is McCarthy’s primary opponent?
And, it's not just House Member turncoats who need to face the primary electoral wrath of ignored constituents, we shall never forget that Willard voted to convict (IIRC, the only GOP Sen to do so).
Watch for Willard to run for GOP POTUS nom (and get much lib media support), however we GOP voters should plan now to show him the (metaphorical) door then.
*Is anyone challenging Tim Scott?*
Come on! We need him right where he is(for now). Incumbency allows us to put resources in other races. Alan West/Elder become governors. Don’t you think having Scott on our side helps? Encouragement for Herschel? He is ‘entitled’ to a 2nd elected term.
Doesn't matter.
You must vote for whoever Trump endorses.
Otherwise you will just split the opposition votes and hand it back to the RINO traitor.
This why everyone must get behind whichever candidate Trump endorses. No squabbling about who is more conservative -- unify behind ONE CANDIDATE and get the RINO-traitor out of there.
Horry County?
I agree, but support now for some one candidate could influence Trump's endorsement.
I stopped reading there because President Trump had no role in inciting a riot. Actually,…. the mostly peaceful protest.
How is he on our side? He voted to certify a potato, and unlimited voter fraud on January 6th, and he's all in for reforming the police. He's no asset. Anyone who voted to certify a fraudulent election should be primaried.
yet another primary race where it’s VITAL that President Trump step in and endorse one of them, or otherwise they’ll disperse the vote and the scumbag anti-Trumper will win by default ...
Agreed.
Good. All 10 need to go.
