Gov. Greg Abbott is ruling out another mask mandate, despite a rising number of COVID-19 cases in Texas and around the country.
“There will be no mask mandate imposed, and the reasons for that are very clear,” Abbott said Tuesday in an interview with Houston’s KPRC 2 News. He noted that many Texans have immunity to the virus through vaccinations or their own recovery from the illness.
“It would be inappropriate to require people who already have immunity to wear a mask,” he added.

The governor instituted a mask mandate in July 2020 as COVID cases skyrocketed in Texas. He rescinded the requirement when vaccines became more widely available — and after facing severe criticism from the right-most wing of the Republican Party, which viewed the mandate as government overreach.
Abbott has since barred public entities, including school districts, from requiring masks. Businesses, however, are free to mandate masks at their events and on their premises.

I disagree with that on this basis; mask mandates gave people a false sense of security which probably resulted in more infections. The masking mania likely had a negative health impact.
My nothing means nothing positive.
I understand. I was just making a point.
Surveys consistently show "journalists" are more than 90 percent Democrat. Since everything is political now with the Left, more than ever the media cannot be trusted to report facts and not party propaganda.
Wimpy finally got it right. Mandates are pure Marxist socialism.
