You can still get the covid after getting the vaccines. You can still die from the covid, as this article reports. If you get the shots, do they protect you from the unvaccinated? If you're unvaccinated, are you protected from or because of the vaccinated? You can get bad side effects from the shots. And you can die from the shots.
So far, you're not "cured" of the covid. You still have to wear a mask. You still have to distance yourself from those who are unvaccinated. You can go to public events but only with others who have been vaccinated. You can be lulled into a false sense of security thinking you're safe from the corona viris but it's not going anywhere soon.
So what exactly are the shots supposed to accomplish besides checking a box off of Biden's bucket list?
Does anyone have any factual information about the purpose of the vaccines or is all of this for show?
I suspect you know all this, but here goes:
1. The vaccines both reduce the likelihood of getting COVID and for those who do get it, vaccination reduces the likelihood of severe disease.
2. Vaccination reduces the likelihood of getting COVID from either an unvaccinated or vaccinated person with a breakthrough infection.
3. Most side effects from the vaccines are mild and limited to a day or two. As with many vaccines and medications, there are rare cases of serious or even lethal side effects.
4. The evidence is clear: the worst outbreaks are in areas with low vaccination rates. If a high enough percentage of the population gets vaccinated (or has long lasting post infection immunity, which is still unclear) then we can dispense with other measures.
There are freeper doctors who treat COVID who have posted confirming the media reports - most who are hospitalized are unvaccinated. Deaths are much more common among the unvaccinated
