So, I’m betting he’s running as a republican or Independent.
Incumbent Tom O'Halleran (D) ran for re-election. He was first elected in 2016 after running for the seat left open by Ann Kirkpatrick (D). In 2018, he defeated challenger Wendy Rogers (R), receiving 54% of the vote to Rogers' 46%.
O'Halleran was one of thirty Democratic members of Congress representing a district that voted for Donald Trump (R) in 2016. During the presidential election, Trump received 48 percent of the vote to Hillary Clinton's (D) 47 percent in the 1st District.[1]
The 1st District stretches along the eastern and northeastern portions of the state and includes Apache, Coconino, Graham, Greenlee, and Navajo counties. Portions of Gila, Maricopa, Mohave, Pima, Pinal, and Yavapai counties are also included in the district.[2]
This race was one of 89 congressional races that were decided by 10 percent or less in 2020.

Not only do I think they stole the election from Trump in AZ, I also think the Pelosi majority is due to the absentee/fake ballot stuffing in AZ and throughout the country.
Redistricting will happen before the 2022 elections of course, so that district description is moot.
If the “non-partisan” (but actually Democrat-controlled) commission which creates the new districts believes that this Democrat is actually in any trouble they will simply adjust the district lines accordingly to help him. Which may (or may not) create an opportunity elsewhere.
Being a retired navy seal doesn’t maie you a great leader or a good person. IE. Jesse “ the Body” Ventura was a closet libertarian.. IE a cluesless jelly fish with big untested or plain stupid ideas with what to do with your money.
His primary opponent will be Walter Blackman, a 21 year Army veteran who served in Iraq as a tank commander. I believe he is the only current black American serving in the Arizona Legislature (I could be wrong).
Blackman is a Trump supporter.
