Last year, Elon Musk predicted his Neuralink brain implant could eventually allow people to bypass human language. With a handful of AI-powered chips jabbed into their brains, Neuralink users could converse with their thoughts alone. Poetry and liturgy would become a sentimental pastime, like roasting marshmallows over a campfire.

Things are moving along at a very rapid pace. Seems like the heads of countries are on the verge of being toppled, more lockdowns, being forced to get a shot (not yet) and vax passports.

He’s a genius but not very sensible. Language exists precisely so as to enable the person to say what he is NOT thinking, to LIE, as well as to say the truth.
No one would adopt his invention, but if they did, they would soon rip it out. Having one’s TRUE thoughts revealed would not work.
This apparatus would get us in big trouble, since it would let other people hear our subvocalizations: what we were saying to ourselves. We know that no one else hears that, and say all kinds of things that would get us fired, divorced, arrested or in a strait jacket.
