The “unveiling” seems to have been of a mockup for the purpose of drawing interest from potential foreign investors and customers. Russia does not seem to have an actual flyable prototype, let alone a production model. On balance, a Back to the Future type time machine in a DeLorean chassis is more likely to enter production than Russia’s claimed new model fighter.

The Sukhoi Checkmate looks like the Boeing X-32 "Monica" that went on a crash South Beach Diet to get ready for bikini season.

Russia’s Checkmate Light Tactical Fighter Is Officially Unveiled (Updated)
After a much-hyped buildup, Russia’s latest fighter jet design has arrived on the international stage.
By Thomas Newdick July 20, 2021

Excerpt:
"Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov was in a bullish mood at MAKS, claiming that the core markets would be India, Vietnam, and in Africa, and projecting global demand for 300 examples of the fighter."
