Something to think about is that it is almost universally assumed that you won’t lose your DOMAIN NAME to the same totalitarianism that bans you on fakebook and the other places.
That is an assumption to keep an eye on and think ahead on.
In other words, building a community that does not utilize traditional DNS or uses it untraditionally.
The only DNS censorship I have heard of was a couple of ham-handed ISPs and they quickly reversed course.
