We really need to bring back UUCP (Unix to Unix Copy) so we can communicate when our favorite web sites go dark.

If you want to take advantage of SEO and search engines to increase participation and revenue, you need a TLD domain name registered though ICANN.

You want to sell out? Are you going to sell your user's private info too?

ICANN can make or break you as you know it now. They have the only loop hole that can screw this place.

And now instead of selling out for a quick buck you say ICANN will censor us. They have never done that.

As long as no one contests your TLD domain name...

Ah, the good old days...

Odd to think that my children are too young to even know what that was.

Now you've moved the goalposts. You want to claim Kelloggs.food when they open up that TLD. Yeah, good luck with that.

Guessing the owners of FB and Twitter had made enough money and don’t care if people leave. With new places opening they will leave FB and go there. That’s when the gov will do something about the censoring. When they can’t control the content they will change laws so they can. Or make it where the new places can be sued. They use until they can’t control it. I can punch you in the nose and then change the laws so you can’t do it back to me.

No, here are all kinds of openings for a nefarious revocation of a domain name boss.

From your link:

ICANN's Domain Abuse Activity Reporting (DAAR) system monitors domain abuse and registration activity across top-level domains (TLDs). DAAR continuously collects registration and security threat data from numerous reputation data feeds. Using the data, ICANN analysts identify and report the use of domain names for activities such as phishing, malware distribution, botnet activity, and spam as a delivery mechanism. The DAAR data can be used to monitor DNS security threat levels and concentrations across participating TLDs. For more information, as well as DAAR monthly reports, visit the Domain Abuse Activity Reporting webpage. ICANN's Identifier Technology Health Indicators (ITHI), or ITHI Metrics, also provide metrics related to DNS Security Threats for the community. For more information, visit the ITHI webpage.

You think people should be allowed to do this?

For which you have provided no examples. I gave you two examples: ripping off a trademark and abuse. Are those what you are talking about? If not, please provided a real link of nefarious recovation.

“You want to sell out? Are you going to sell your user’s private info too?”

No... Absolutely not. As a domain owner my first priority is the prevention of my members private information getting out. Even if I have to kill the site and dump the site database, and go through being waterboarded. I am willing to go to jail first before private info can or will be gathered. Subpoena, warrant or not...

Those who know the site know this unquestionable trust.

Been my personal pact to our members for over ten years.

Would it not be possible to have a 1000 different ICANN databases?

Who is in ultimate control of ICANN?

Where/Who is the root power of this high level ecosystem?

If they have the power to ban a domain name for safety reasons (terrorism). They also have the power to ban a domain for political purposes.

You are actually foolish enough to think this cannot be “Arranged” if they like?

There are no databases. It is all domain names through an authority Registrar. It is all a scam from the get go driven by Google as the first search engine. If you are not registered on the TLD you cannot be searched and found by spiders and crawlers.

It is only the top 10% of he internet. The deep web and dark web is below that. But the deep web is not indexed or searchable. Everything in the TOR browser is a .onion URL.

So all we have o do to create a new internet is come up with a new URL suffix and share a desktop client/browser just like TOR did...
