As you might imagine, social scientists analyzed the data long ago. The answer is of course yes, by a factor of . . . I forget, but when you're talking about "partners per lifetime," for a huge percentage of homosexual men it's in the thousands.
The best explanation I've seen is in The Evolution of Human Sexuality by Donald Symons, an emeritus professor of anthropology at UC Santa Barbara. Men are by nature less picky about, um, having temporary partners than women are. So when you put two (or more) promiscuous individuals together--and add in factors like drug use and depression being commonplace among homosexuals--the numbers go astronomical.

Gay people are not just keeping the ills of their dangerous lifestyle to themselves. Many folks say ‘as long as they keep to,themselves, it’s no skin off my nose ‘ but this isn’t true. It cost a tremendous amount of money to keep I felted gay people alive, and taxpayers are on the hook for that $$

The latest fad and fashion among this group of degenerates is the “U = U” slogan (undetectable = untransmitable) and the PrEP gauntlet. Both campaigns still recommend the use of condoms in tandem with the meds, but the understood message is that they are free to “bareback” since the risk to contract AIDS has been reduced. What they miss is that these strategies don’t protect against other STDs at all. So, they get what they get.
