Exactly. Netanyahu wanting the US to get its hands dirty before a change in administration is understandable, but the deep state would have gotten the military action it had been wanting AND it would have been able to pretend that deep state fave Biden wasn’t responsible for it. Right now they’d be pushing the story that he’s doing a great job of cleaning up warmonger Trump’s mess. And the contemporary Right would have been split in two by the war. Whatever one thinks of his presidency. even his detractors have to admit that Trump had the smarts to avoid these sorts of traps.
