Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former vice president Mike Pence urged Donald Trump to attack Iran after it was clear the latter had lost the 2020 election, according to a report in the New Yorker.
The notion of a military strike was staunchly opposed, however, by chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley.

Hezbollah attacked the US Embassy in Iraq. IRGC had already been named as terrorists. Trump did indeed deploy 1st Brigade Combat, 82nd Airborne to Kuwait ... to wait.
Instead we bagged Soleimani. And even though the IRGC launched attacks on US troops in Ayn al-Asad and Erbil (the attacks that resulted in 100+ TBI diagnosis) -- and even after that, Iran shot down Ukraine 752 slaughtering 176 people -- the decapitation of Soleimani somehow closed the war window, with an assist from John Kerry begging Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif to stop. retaliating. and. wait. until. our. coup. not. your. coup.
Seriously, who would give any credibility to 'The New Yorker'?
Maybe true, maybe not, but if true, Trump was smart to resist.
Because the Deep State would not have been able to pull off a soft coup d'etat in a hot war. Generals who were used to provide cover for electoral theft "Nothing to see here, raging white people" would have been directing strikes and moving troops, or dutifully removed by the CIC!
Xiden would be sitting at home in Delaware crapping himself and Heels Up would be writing her memoirs "The Black Joe Lieberman" or "Geraldine and Me".
Exactly. Netanyahu wanting the US to get its hands dirty before a change in administration is understandable, but the deep state would have gotten the military action it had been wanting AND it would have been able to pretend that deep state fave Biden wasn’t responsible for it. Right now they’d be pushing the story that he’s doing a great job of cleaning up warmonger Trump’s mess. And the contemporary Right would have been split in two by the war. Whatever one thinks of his presidency. even his detractors have to admit that Trump had the smarts to avoid these sorts of traps.
I doubt this very much. More fake news.
Pence: Bush Neo_Con Interventionist Republican. Seems like when Reagan won, the Bush Family somehow got Old Man Bush on the ticket even though he undercut Reagan every step of the way. Seems like even Trump, while he stumped the Bush family and NeoCons in the 2016 Primary still had to play ball by taking Pence as VP. He is nothing more than an establishment Neo Con who believes in interventionist policies like the Bush family.
The Deep State gets what it wants and gets to blame it on the “hated” departing President.

The New Yorker is not a reliable source. This is likely Pence’s inept team trying to win bona fides with the Israel crowd. Serious papers wouldn’t bite so they had to settle for this rag. Sad!
What election loss?
Partisan Media Shill alert.
“According to an article in the New Yorker”.....hmmmm??
And their “source” was whom, Mark Milley?????
So is what we have here another attempt by Mark Milley to falsely paint himself as the nation’s savoir???
“Israel always wants the US to fight its wars.”
Proof please. Israel has always fought its own wars, and won, sometimes against incredible odds as they are surrounded by enemy states. The U.S. hasn’t fought with Israel nor has Israel asked us to do so. We do sell them arms, but we make money by doing so, and they are, after all, our ears in the Middle East, and an ally. So, once again, proof please.
The only way your comment, causing head scratching in the reader, could make any sense is if you wrote the untruth as a literary device to try to be cute, really meaning the opposite of what you wrote, because Israel has always fought its own wars and wants it that way.
