about 10 years ago, myself and some associates were going to open a much needed business in a territory dominated legislatively and politically by blacks.
The business was not a beach bar. It was a highly technical business. Right off the bat the locals made it known to me that I would have to get a black “partner”. This “partner” would have no dollars invested and would, effectively, control the company.
We shut the operation down and left when it became clear that when you could not explain things to where they understood, and you couldn’t, then you were/are a racist.
