“Turn off unnecessary lights”
I don’t mean to hijack, but about 2 years ago, I finally gave LED lights a try at home. I use almost exclusively the “lower” temperature ones, reserving the retina-melting “blue” lights for the garage.
Since then, I have shifted almost completely to LED. In several lamps I use a Y-splitter to improve light levels to match previous levels. At about 10% the power, my electric bill clearly shows the difference.
But I note that I still have the habit of running around turning off lights, even though it doesn’t really save me anything at all, any more.
I bought up a bunch of 100 w incandescent for the winter. 3 of them on desk lamps on my model building table warms things up nicely when I am building. Switch to LED in the summer.
