Afghans who worked for the U.S. government will be flown directly to the U.S., while a larger group will be evacuated to third countries or military bases overseas where their visa paperwork will be reviewed, three administration officials told NBC News.
As U.S. troops leave the country, the Biden administration has come under growing pressure from lawmakers, veterans groups and refugee rights organizations to take action to protect Afghans who face retaliation from the Taliban for their work as interpreters or in other jobs for U.S. troops and diplomats.
About 2,500 Afghans whose visa applications have cleared security vetting will be eligible for evacuation directly to a U.S. military base in the U.S., along with their family members, a State Department spokesperson and two Defense officials said.
“Shortly after they arrive, once the medical check-up requirement is complete, their immigration status will be adjusted so they can be eligible for refugee resettlement benefits that will help them and their families with the resettlement process,”

Were they pre-screened for their voting preference?
Thank agod, they risked their lives and the left vets of their families to help us.
That should be God
Doesn’t matter. We all voted for Democrats apparently.
Twitter said so.
Relocate them to another Muslim country.
They will be thankful and vote for the American Communist Party (aka, Democrat Party).
I wonder how many of the 2,500 are terrorists.
Britain, Germany, or France?
So if the average family size is 4, this is 10,000?
I see 12,500 here plus family members should be over 50-thousand as I see it.
You’re starting to see the masking in the spin from the Biden Administration and media.
Joey Wonka is giving out golden tickets huh?
Bush’s Afghan “legacy”. Never ends. What exactly did we achieve in Afghanistan after 20 years, thousands of lives and billions of dollars later ?
Afghans, YES
Haitians, NO
Cubans, NO
come on in boys, the jihads fine..
It will probably yield us a couple sudden jihad syndrome events, but whatever.
If the only reason a group stands and fights with us is to get citizenship PLUS PAY it means they don’t give a damn about ‘the cause’... and we need to get the hell out of the battle or country or whatever... The men and women who saved the world after World War II are very old or dead... and this crop of Pentagon shits aren’t worth crap. They can’t do the job and they kill and wound our young for NOTHING.
I have no problem with this. The people we are talking about risked their, and their families lives, to try to bring our people home safely and whole. The Biden administration didn’t start this war in Afghanistan...Bush decided to go into the country after Bin Laden. I agreed with that, and still do. But the people we are talking about in that country are our allies and were responsible for our soldiers’ lives.
They are asking for asylum and they deserve it. Thinking they are a vote getting machine for the dems is down the road. And figuring the quantity of them is not the problem, The amount would be nothing if Biden was not creating a cullender on our southern border bussing people in for benefits. These Afghans are asking for help we should give to them.
We bailed in ‘Nam just like Afghanistan. As of April 30th, 2005 which marked the 30th anniversary of the fall of Saigon three decades in which the Vietnamese communist government and proxies killed 7.5 million people. We can’t speak for the citizens, but leaving those that directly supported us is no better than killing them ourselves. And we are supposed to be the humane. Nor do we leave friends and comrades behind for the slaughter.

If they were people who worked with us (such as a Translator (with a cool name) Saber Rock, who John Solomon is pushing for to get him and his family out of Afghanistan) I would be all on board with this.
If the Biden Administration is involved, they will all likely be active Taliban.
