It isn’t just blacks without reliable transportation. Where we live in the South, there are no subways, commuter trains, buses or taxis. I don’t think we have uber drivers. We don’t have car rental places but you can rent a car at the dealership for a hefty price but you’d need a ride there. We don’t have Walmart vans or Amazon drones dropping purchases at our door. We don’t even have pizza delivery so forget those food deliveries city folk take for granted.
Food deserts? Some entire counties have only 1 or 2 grocery stores. One such county had their only store burn down right at the beginning of the covid lockdown and I caught all kinds of nasty flak from clueless FR folk who have stores on every corner. For decades and long before Trump, our only store has had Venezuelan/Cuban type empty shelves and what it does get is the rotten crap city stores refuse. I’ve had to make something like drug deals with “the guy in the back” just to get frozen fish. Yes, this right here in the middle of the good ol’ USA.
Since the lockdowns, we’ve been driving 4 towns over (no grocery stores closer) to a more reliable store but it still has limits and out of stock items.
How about we fix America’s problems before venturing out to every other country in the world that’s going to spit on us anyway.
