McCarthy was supposed to become the next Speaker of the House after Boehner but the party leaders saw he was too compromised as pro amnesty and the base would rebel ( like they did against Boehner which is why he had to go) so he was passed over for Paul Ryan. If Republicans were really serious about conservatism and supporting the base then the leader would be Jim Jordan. McCarthy works for the Washington establishment not the base so he'll always tell you he hears you but he can only do so much. Just be grateful for the 1% of the agenda we want to be considered 10 years from now that he got us while the Democrats and the Chamber of Commerce get everything they want 100% right now. “It's the best we can do right now really!
