Arizona Senate President Karen Fann on Tuesday said that the 2020 presidential election audit’s ballot count led by Cyber Ninjas differed from the Maricopa County tally, and that the discrepancy prompted the election review team to acquire new machines to recount the ballots.
“They haven’t released a number yet,” Fann, a Republican, said during in an interview with KTAR. “However, we do know that those numbers do not match with Maricopa County at this point.”
Jack Sellers, the chairman of the county’s Board of Supervisors, told the Arizona Mirror that he was not surprised by the claim.
Cyber Ninjas has “cycled through processes and procedures, chasing conspiracy theories while volunteers with no elections experience tried to accurately count votes as they spun by on turntables. Elections experts from across the country have said this method is flawed and will produce incorrect results,” he said.
The Arizona Senate Democratic Caucus also pushed back against Fann’s remarks, saying in a Twitter post, “This is a lie.”
The caucus and county did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
According to Maricopa County’s official canvass (pdf), there were 2,089,563 ballots cast in its 2020 general election.
Fann’s remarks come as the ballots cast in Arizona’s largest county in the 2020 election were set to be counted for a third time on orders from the state’s Senate.
The ballots submitted in Maricopa County for the presidential contest were tabulated, as normal, by election officials. They were recounted by hand by audit teams hired by the state Senate in a process that was completed late last month.

The fact that the AZ GOP has been quiet on this kind of indicates that Kelly Ward removed most of the McCain spies from the audit team.
It also explains why the DNC has gone full on nuts in the last couple of months.
This is premature news, unfortunately. Of course, the batches are not going to match exactly. Have 3 competent people count 100k documents, and person one will come up with a different answer with a number of documents that large.
The magnitude is what will be news.
Exactly. Is it a percentage point or more different or just hundredths of a point? I’ll wager it’s the first. They had to cheat a LOT to beat Trump, in AZ even more so than the other states. Wonder what we’ll find out about the balance of ghost votes without ballots vs. fraudulent physical ballots (unfolded mail-ins, wrong paper, wrong precinct local races, etc)
The hope is that this isn’t just all an exercise to teach the cheaters how to beat detection next time.
An accurate count of illegal/fake votes doesn’t do squat, though I’m sure they cheated that way, too. Audits not recounts.
So ... When will the Legislature move to invalidate the election results or substitute corrective findings? Until that happens, just naval gazing.
Right after election the Arizona GOP tried really hard to get rid of Kelly Ward. The GOPe was in on the coup.

Unless something substantive is done with the results and heads roll, the Dems will just increase the size of their textbook.
I guess you can get a leftist "expert" to say anything. I've watched counting with the turntables. One person puts the ballot on the turntable. It turns so three people can record the vote they see. If the three are in agreement, then they record the vote. Then the ballot is removed from the turntable by another person. The vote counters never touch the ballot. There are also observers that only observe. They do not count or push/pull ballots from the turntable.
I saw on another post here on FR that the discrpancy was over 63,000 votes! hmmm, lot more than the 11,000 votes that put Biden over in RED ARIXONA...we are NOT A BLUE STATE!
So the Senate count is looking at only voted ballots ? It isn’t going to match in any case with a different tabulation method than the 1st two counts which tallied the raw number of ballots.
Which will wrap up first, this or the Durham report? It’s like the joke, “how do you keep a jerk in suspense?”

The question is: how much did they cheat?
At this point, I think a forensic audit of EVERY SINGLE STATE election is well warranted, considering what a sample of just a few states has revealed. I’m sure the Dems would be all on board with open, transparent, professional audits of every state election, right? I mean, Republicans could have cheated as well.
This is the civil rights issue of our generation. Let’s steal that phrase from them.
