A parachutist from Camp Roberts torpedoed through the roof of a Southern California home and into the interior of the house, authorities said.
The man, who was reportedly a British soldier in the midst of a training exercise, dealt with a chute that didn’t fully open before he plunged through the house in Atascadero just before 5 p.m. July 6, police said in a news release.
“The parachutist was conscious but stunned with complaints of pain but no visible serious injuries,” the Atascadero Police Department said in a recent news release.
“The occupants of the residence were not home at the time and therefore were uninjured.”

BTW note to the author of the piece. Atascadero is north of San Luis Obispo, which is generally considered to be the line of demarcation between north and south California, ( though it is in San Luis Obispo county). ‘Central’ California would be the most accurate descriptor.
I’m sure glad they weren’t doing this back in 1776, we might have lost.

To put a finer point on the matter....as one who
has resided in SLOtown 3 times, the locals refer to
the area as the Central Coast. But the thought that
there is a percieved connection to Southern California
is personally appalling 😉.

I can understand that. The natural boundary between central and southern is the Gaviota Pass, IMHO.
