I am under the belief that ‘they’ expect everyone will catch covid sooner or later. The vaccines don’t stop infection or spread they just reduce the risk of severe infection - for some indeterminate period of time. We’ll get to zero covid maybe in a few years after nearly everyone has been previously infected... less the few who somehow avoided it.

But we never get to zero influenza. There are a lot of strains and all of them are mutating all the time.
I figure the same will be true of COVID.
