I guess that’s what they mean by “culture” shock”. I’ve done a bit of traveling throughout the US and parts of Canada. And although I always took note of the cultural differences, I was never surprised or put off by them. If there’s one benefit to growing up in NYC, it’s that you’re exposed to the good, bad and ugly of various peoples amd cultures. As a result, nothing shocks you.

I’ve found that it is still well within a range, and many from there are as blind as Damon to the entire outside U.S., while also being familiar with a haphazard mish-mash from around the world.
