I do believe it is time to rethink the whole philosophy of compulsory education. Especially its control being in the hands of the state.

The government school system was never that great. It was founded in order to create obedient factory workers and it long ago ceased to teach much. Moving children as a herd through a grade system is no way to teach creative or critical thinking.
