McCarthy and McConnell should be demanding daily the name of the shooter be released, all facts related to the shooting, as well as the rationale for not charging him. The Republicans in Congress are clearly complicit in the cover up or afraid of Pelosi. Whichever is the case they are not defending equal justice under law at a time when the government is becoming more tyrannical.
If you feel Republicans capturing the House and Senate will make a difference in 2022, consider what is happening today. Why will it be any different. Or consider the two year period January 2017 to January 2019 when the Republicans held the House, the Senate, and the White House. Trump would have signed virtually any bill rolling back the power of the federal government. He would have signed a responsible budget slashing wasteful spending. How many such bills came to his desk? Zero. The GOP Congress fought efforts to control the border and would not vote for funding. The GOP Congress failed to repeal Obamacare. The GOP Congress would not defund Planned Parenthood and Public Broadcasting, much less slash the hundreds of millions (if not billions) flowing to various Democrat aligned social justice organizations.
Dial the clock back to the Bush years. When the Republicans controlled the House and Senate they were on a spending orgy piling earmarks into spending bills. No effort to roll back the every growing bureaucracy or cancel failed programs.
I the GOP captures the House in 2022, McCarthy will roll over for the Democrat majority leader just like Paul Ryan caved to Pelosi. McConnell will do deals for special interests and preserve the Democrat programs. It will be business as usual.
The shooting was ruled justified by DOJ and Capitol Police so no, the shooter will never be charged with anything.
