The article has a point. The GOPe RINOs hate Trump and his supporters. They want the old status quo back where they get the whitehouse every 8 years. They will be able to manipulate the price of energy, start unwinnable wars, keep the cheap-labor express and drug business going from south of the border. Even if Trump doesn’t run, if the Republican nominee holds the America First banner they will form a third party to siphon ‘conservative’ votes so the Dems stay in power.
Too bad there is no conservative wise enough to run hard left for the next 2 or 3 years and run on the green party ticket
