There could have been animals that evolved to some extent, but if so, then they did it in this earths first creation, not post Genesis 1:2.
There are really only 3 choices.
1) Mankind evolved and the Bible is a lie.
2) God created mankind in His image in the beginning and young earth creationists are correct.
3) God created mankind in His image after destroying whatever was here on earth after Genesis 1:1 and before Genesis 1:2. In that case, young earth creationists are incorrect.
Choose wisely!
Choice 4 = Your interpretation of scripture is faulty.
