Fauci will come to regret making himself the lightning rod. Trump did not do that. Nobody in his administration did that. If you think back to the announcement about the working group at the White House for the pandemic they wanted equal voices.
The media and left needed a foil. Fauci stepped up. His emails show it if you take the time to read them. Fauci wanted to elevate himself and hide his culpability in working with the CCP.
